Participative design process, led by OUI – Office for Urban Innovation (Paris) – on a post-industrial site in the East of France, near Metz for the cities engaged and assembled into two ‘communautés des communes’. This project is led by SKOPE architecture and city planning office (Brussels).
The Portes de l’Orne (title given to the 400 hectares site recovering from a long term industrial steel activity) is sleeping. The cities surrounding it want to see this land reborn in a dynamic and fresh wave bringing back employment and great life quality in this broken region of France.
Design@Portesdelorne is activating the local community and engaging a conversation on the future of the site Les Portes de l’Orne by the means of public activities and workshops.
